National Catholic Prayer Breakfast April 2006
The National Catholic Prayer Breakfast will be held the first week in April:
This year the Mass will be held Thursday evening, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Cathedral, followed by an 8:00 p.m. reception at the Army Navy Club. The breakfast will be held the following morning at the Hilton Washington at 7:00 a.m. According to the schedule, Father Paul McDermott, O.P. and Raymond Arroyo are also scheduled to speak, followed by Dr. Scott Hahn and Father Benedict Groeschel, C.F.R., following the breakfast. According to their website, The National Catholic Prayer Breakfast was created "in response to the call of Pope John Paul the Great for a "New Evangelization, new in order, methods and expression," -- to "thank Our Lord for his abundant blessings upon this Land, reaffirm our faith in Him and renew our dedication to this great Republic, commit ourselves to providing for our brothers and sisters who are the most vulnerable in society, and to commit our country to the protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary."
